Personality:

Above all else, Mary is a protector and a mother. Mary’s core beliefs are love and family and she will do everything in her power to keep those she holds dear safe from any and all harm. Mary is also extremely loyal and selfless to her friends and family and she displays this loyalty by making a deal with the Yellow Eyed Demon when she was 19 after John had died wherein the Yellow Eyed Demon promised he would return John’s life to him if she allowed the Yellow Eyed Demon entrance to her son’s nursery in the future. Mary again displayed her desire to protect her family when she caught the Yellow Eyed Demon in Sam’s nursery and she attempted to fight the demon off but ended up dying by the demon’s hand.

Mary has natural maternal instincts. She loves to care for her friends and family and will always provide for them in whatever way she can. She is always her happiest when surrounded by her husband, John, and her two sons, Sam and Dean. She considers her children her greatest legacy.

Mary is a natural protector. She was raised a hunter by her family and she possesses the normal characteristics of a hunter, i.e. being cautious and suspicious of any new person she meets, carrying weapons that would help her defend herself against the supernatural, etc. She always wanted to get out of the hunting life and she saw her opportunity to do just that when she married John. After her marriage, she left the hunting world behind and started a family, keeping John in the dark about her past. She didn’t keep John in the dark to deliberately lie to him but rather a desire to protect him.

Mary is very sweet and she possesses great patience. If she becomes frayed, she can and will snap. She has great wit, can be sarcastic, has a generally easygoing temperament and great appreciation of classic rock, something that she passed on to her eldest son, Dean. She can be quite stubborn and hard-headed at times and can hold her own against hard-headed behaviour from others. She is never easily swayed once her mind is made up and she has a way about her that allows people to trust her and open up to her which are all characteristics that are displayed in her youngest son, Sam. Her willingness to sacrifice herself at any cost to protect her family is evident in both of her sons.

Skills | Powers:

Mary is a good judge of character. She is loyal and protective of her family and has a strong maternal instinct. As stated above, Mary is a hunter. She's efficient with hand-to-hand combat as well as firearms and other weaponry. She has an excellent shot, trained in lock picking and is well versed in Latin. She is intelligent and caring, which allows her to easily gain someone's trust.
